Overview
These terms (the “Terms”) govern your use of the HoursBack website at www.hoursback.co.uk and the services HoursBack provides. By using the website, or by booking and paying for a HoursBack service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or buy a service.
HoursBack is operated by David Bevan as a sole trader, registered in the United Kingdom. References in these Terms to “we”, “us”, and “HoursBack” mean that business. References to “you” mean you as the visitor or buyer.
Consumer or business client
Most HoursBack buyers are business owners (sole traders or small limited companies) buying for the purposes of their business. A small number of buyers may qualify as a “consumer” under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, meaning they are buying wholly or mainly outside their trade. Consumers have additional statutory rights that cannot be excluded by these Terms, including the rights described in the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Nothing in these Terms takes those rights away.
What we sell
HoursBack’s services are:
- HoursBack Quiz (free). A 9-question AI readiness quiz with a personalised action plan emailed to you on completion. There is no fee and no commitment.
- HoursBack Assessment — £799. A pre-session questionnaire, a 60-minute live diagnostic session over Zoom, a recorded video walkthrough, a custom written report delivered within 48 hours of the session, and follow-up check-ins at 7 days and 30 days.
- HoursBack Team Diagnostic — from £1,199. Everything in the Assessment, plus individual interviews with one team member at the baseline price. Each additional team member is +£400. Teams larger than four are quoted separately.
- Implementation Kickstart — £349. A 90-minute click-along session where we coach you through setting up specific tools from the report you have already received. The Kickstart is a post-assessment add-on. It is not sold as a standalone product and is not available to anyone who has not first completed a HoursBack Assessment or Team Diagnostic.
- Custom AI Agent Build — from £2,500. A scoped build of a specific AI agent or automation surfaced by an Assessment. Final pricing is agreed in a separate Statement of Work after a scoping call. The fee covers design, build, recorded walkthrough, and 30 days of email support from go-live.
We also publish free resources: the blog at /blog, the prompt library at /prompts, and free tools at /tools. These are informational and do not amount to professional advice for your specific situation.
Booking and payment
When you book a paid service, you agree to pay the price shown at the time of booking. The price displayed at checkout is the binding price for that booking, even if our published list price changes later.
Payment is taken by Stripe. By completing the Stripe checkout you authorise the charge. You will receive a confirmation email with your booking details and a link to the pre-session questionnaire.
Bookings can be rescheduled at no charge if you give us more than 24 hours’ notice. To reschedule, email [email protected] or use the rescheduling link in your confirmation email.
Money-back guarantee on the Assessment
The HoursBack Assessment and Team Diagnostic carry a results-based money-back guarantee. If the report we deliver to you does not present at least five hours per week of recoverable time across your workflows, you can claim a full refund.
To claim:
- Email [email protected] within 14 days of receiving your report.
- Say which sections of the report you believe fall short of the five-hour threshold. You do not need to write a long explanation, but giving us specifics helps us improve.
- We will respond within 5 working days. Where the claim is accepted, we will process the refund through Stripe to your original payment method within 14 days of acceptance.
This guarantee is a contractual promise from HoursBack. It is separate from, and in addition to, any statutory rights you may have as a consumer (see “Statutory right of withdrawal” below).
Cancellations and no-shows
You may cancel a booking before the live session takes place.
- More than 24 hours before the session: full refund.
- Less than 24 hours before the session: we will offer to reschedule once, free of charge. If you cannot reschedule, we will refund half the fee to cover the slot we held for you.
- No-show: if you neither attend nor give notice, the fee is forfeited. We will of course try to reach you first.
Once your live session has been held, the Assessment is treated as delivered. From that point the only refund route is the money-back guarantee above.
Statutory right of withdrawal (consumers)
If you qualify as a consumer under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you usually have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel a service bought online and receive a full refund.
HoursBack’s services are time-sensitive (we hold a session slot for you). By booking and paying you are asking us to start performing the service inside the 14-day cooling-off period, and you acknowledge that once the service has been fully performed (which we treat as the point at which the live session has been held) the right to cancel under the 2013 Regulations is lost. The results-based money-back guarantee above continues to apply after that point.
Implementation Kickstart and Custom AI Agent Build
The Implementation Kickstart (£349) is sold only to clients who have already received a HoursBack report. The fee is fully refundable if HoursBack fails to deliver the scheduled session. It is non-refundable on outcome, because the value sits in the session itself rather than in any specific result.
The Custom AI Agent Build is sold on a separate Statement of Work signed by both parties before work starts. The Statement of Work governs scope, payment milestones, refund terms, and acceptance criteria. In the absence of a specific term in the Statement of Work, the deposit becomes non-refundable once build work has started. If HoursBack withdraws before work has started, the deposit is refunded in full.
Referral programme
HoursBack runs a referral programme. The current reward is £50 per converted referral, where “converted” means a referred customer has booked and paid for a HoursBack Assessment or Team Diagnostic and has not claimed a refund.
- You may refer anyone who is not yet a HoursBack client. You may not refer yourself, your immediate family, or colleagues with whom you share a billing account.
- The reward is paid either as a credit against a future HoursBack booking or as a Stripe-processed payment, at the referrer’s choice.
- The reward is voided if the referred booking is later refunded or charged back.
- We may close the programme, or change the reward, on 30 days’ notice. Rewards already earned at the date of notice are honoured in full.
Affiliate links
Some of the third-party tool recommendations in our quiz results, blog posts, prompt library, free tools, and assessment reports contain affiliate links. If you sign up through one of these links, HoursBack may earn a commission. This does not change the price you pay.
Our recommendations are based on what we think will save you the most time given your business. Affiliate commission does not influence which tools we recommend, and we recommend tools that have no affiliate programme alongside ones that do. You are free to navigate to any provider’s website directly. Doing so does not affect the service you receive from HoursBack.
HoursBack is not responsible for the quality, reliability, availability, or performance of any third-party tool we recommend. Your use of any such tool is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policy. We do not accept liability for any loss arising from your use of a recommended tool, including data loss, service interruptions, or failure to achieve expected time savings.

Intellectual property
All content on the HoursBack website (text, design, graphics, code) is owned by HoursBack and is protected by UK copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.
Your assessment report is licensed to you for internal use inside your business. You may share it with your team and your advisers. You may not resell it, republish it, or distribute it commercially.
Use of anonymised insights
You grant HoursBack a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free right to reference anonymised patterns, themes, and general observations from your engagement in marketing content, thought leadership, training materials, and internal tools. We will not name you or your business, reproduce verbatim quotes, or publish any identifying details in public content without your separate written consent.
You may revoke this grant for future content by giving us written notice, but we are not required to remove already-published content that is genuinely anonymised.
Confidentiality
Information you share with us during the questionnaire and live session (your processes, your numbers, your team, the problems you are trying to solve) is treated as confidential. We will not disclose it to any third party except the processors named in our privacy policy and only to the extent each one needs to do its job. Information you ask us to keep in particular confidence (commercially sensitive numbers, for example) is kept out of the anonymised-insights grant above on your written request.
Your responsibilities
When using our services you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your business and the workflows we are reviewing.
- Complete the pre-session questionnaire before your live session.
- Attend the live session on time, or reschedule with reasonable notice.
- Not use HoursBack content, prompts, or recommendations for unlawful purposes.
- Tell us promptly if anything in your report is factually wrong about your business, so we can correct it.
Limits on what HoursBack guarantees
Our reports are recommendations and a roadmap based on the information you share with us and our professional assessment. We do not guarantee specific financial outcomes. The actual hours and money you save depend on whether and how you implement the recommendations. Hours and money saved figures in reports are estimates based on stated assumptions; reality will vary.
We do guarantee what we deliver: that the report will present a credible, prioritised plan with at least five hours per week of recoverable time, that the recommendations will be specific to your business, and that you will get the deliverables listed on our assessment page. The money-back guarantee above is the remedy if we fail to do that.
Limitation of liability
Subject to the next paragraph, HoursBack’s total liability to you (whether in contract, tort, breach of statutory duty, or otherwise) arising out of or in connection with these Terms and the services is limited to the fees you have paid HoursBack in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of anticipated savings, loss of business, or loss of data.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law, including the implied terms of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 where you are buying as a consumer.
Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by an event outside that party’s reasonable control, including industrial action, civil unrest, fire, flood, extreme weather, epidemic, and the unavailability of telecommunications networks or third-party services. The party affected will tell the other promptly and the parties will agree a reasonable replan. If the event continues for more than 30 days either party may end the contract; any fees paid for unperformed work will be refunded.
Termination
You may end your contract with HoursBack at any time on notice in writing. Fees for work already performed remain due; the money-back guarantee continues to apply where its conditions are met.
HoursBack may end the contract immediately, refund fees for work not yet performed, and decline further engagement where you (a) materially breach these Terms, (b) act abusively towards HoursBack or its associates, or (c) initiate a payment chargeback while we are still trying to resolve a dispute with you in good faith.
Privacy
Your use of our services is also governed by our privacy policy, which explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and your rights.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where the change is material and affects the price, scope, or refund position of a service you have already booked, we will email you at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Non-material changes (typos, link fixes, clarifications) take effect on publication and are only noted in the “last updated” date. Continued use of the website or services after a change takes effect amounts to acceptance of the revised Terms.
Notices
Formal notice to HoursBack should be sent by email to [email protected]. We will notify you at the email address you used at checkout (or, for free users, the email address on your most recent submission to us).
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. For business clients, any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of our services is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Where you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you are habitually resident.
Third-party rights
A person who is not a party to these Terms has no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of these Terms.
Entire agreement and severability
These Terms (together with the privacy policy and any Statement of Work for a Custom AI Agent Build) make up the entire agreement between you and HoursBack on their subject matter and supersede any earlier representations. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
